The Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) named Irvine-based Kia’s Telluride its 2020 MAMA Family Vehicle of the Year, ranking it first among the 19 other contenders for the award. Submissions at the Chicago Auto show included cars that were introduced for the first time this year or and those with significant redesigns.
In its 112th year, the Chicago Auto Show, the largest auto show in North America, features the awards in which the cars are reviewed by automotive journalists.
“The Chicago auto show has always had a special place in Kia’s corporate heart,” said Michael Cole, president, Kia Motors America. “And our respect for MAMA and its journalist members goes hand-in-hand with our affinity for the region. Kia is very proud of the Telluride and this award.”
According to Kia, the demand for the Telluride continues. The company reports that more than 60,000 Tellurides have been sold since going on sale early last year.
Kia says that the Telluride is assembled in the United States and is manufactured from parts sourced in the U.S. and globally.
