A dozen roses or a dozen donuts? How about a dozen donuts with roses? That’s what Duck Donuts in Irvine is delivering for Valentine’s Day. Located in Trade Food Hall on Michelson Dr., the donut shop says its Love Assortment will win your valentine’s heart.

Duck Donuts if offering its Valentine’s-themed donuts through Feb. 16. The special assortment includes donuts topped with Nutella, rich chocolate icing and a strawberry drizzle. Pink and red sprinkles, as well as red roses made of icing, top the treats.

The shop is known for its made-to-order donuts for customers. Walk in, select your donut, and then make it your own by choosing which icing and additional toppings you want. You can watch the whole process from a special viewing area.

“Our Love Assortment helps our guests express their admiration to that special someone in a unique, outside-the-box way,” said Russ DiGilio, founder and CEO of Duck Donuts. “Why say it, when you can share your feelings over warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts?”

The unique donutery was founded in 2007 by DiGilio who claims he wanted a made-to-order donut but couldn’t find a place that provided customization of donuts. The first store opened in in the resort towns of Duck and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Now there are locations in 26 states including and four countries.
